Cycling on the streets of Amsterdam already strikes me as an act of bravery, but doing so with framed art (presumably with glass on the opposite side) is more optimistic.

Frog Hollow
Hartford’s Frog Hollow neighborhood is home to Broad Street, seen at the left side of this image. Just beyond its bounds is downtown Hartford. Until flying my drone, I had never seen the two in contrast like this. They make quite a pair.
Old Amidst New
At once (post)modern and ancient, Dublin is a city with many sides; I feel this image captures both. Amidst a see of mid-rise modern construction, this older building looks particularly decrepit with the enormous foliage astride it.
Dublin Barber
The barbershop open at the mouth of a long street of shuttered, graffitied shops almost looks like a dressed set for a film; the visual interplay between the figure in the foreground and the distant figure at the end of the alley raises a question about their past or future interaction that I can’t answer.

Traffic Along the River Liffey
November rush-hour traffic in Dublin provides a glowing array down the street, but I have to imagine it’s more frustrating to be sitting in said traffic.

Dublin in late autumn has a damp energy that I found unquestionably intriguing; the optical artifacts from shooting into the setting sun do a fair job of approximating the feeling that every bit of asphalt and brick have some eerie effect taking place beneath them.

Reviewing my street photography from last November’s trip to Dublin, I was interested to find this set of three otherwise-unrelated images in which the sense of perspective above a busy crowd induced an element of symmetry and order.
Two Spontaneous Alignments in San Diego
With so many tall, vertically oriented structures in a city, it’s probably no surprise that some of them should fall into pleasing alignment with one another. The modest glow of sunrise light through the gap between the clocktower and the adjacent building provides a friendly spark to guide the eye to the center of this image.
In this second case, it’s harsher Sun, rather than palm trees and clock towers, that has found its way into a special alignment through the streets of San Diego. Bright light falls into this canyon that should otherwise be dawn dim.
Lights Up Park Street
Park Street might have been named for a different park (the one up the street), but the glow of St. Lawrence’s campus at night (the reverse view of this shot) has a delightful Central Park vibe that matches the street name well.
Main Street in the Apocalypse
“Apocalypse” may be a bit unfair to the Bohemian folks who have brought Bombay Beach back, but this spot on the shores of the Salton Sea nonetheless (particularly with the Jeep in the foreground) has a real “Mad Max” vibe.
