I’ve taken many pictures of St. Lawrence University’s Johnson Hall, particularly at night—its sheer glass face looks particularly stunning when fully illuminated. After years at the school, I’ve realized the degree to which those pictures have aged; the trees outside no longer take the same form and the whole setting of the structure is now. After more than five years at St. Lawrence, perhaps I need to begin revisiting other structures, too.

Southwest from Northeast
Where sunset tapers into the rest of the sky—or when a sunset is so complete and overwhelming that the whole sky is transformed—there are interesting patterns to be found in the northwestern and southwestern edge. The evening of this image over Canton, New York, the result seemed particularly reminiscent of some Renaissance painting.

Lexington’s Kentucky Horse Park seems to have more than its fair share of great sunsets; I wonder whether the primary residents (the horses) appreciate them? Scientific evidence would suggest not quite to the same degree (horses see fewer colors than people.)
Zoo Creatures
Previous images from the Cincinnati Zoo that I brought you came with ample description of the animals present. For the set of photos today, I was so caught up in capturing the moment that I neglected to record much about their identities.
This bird displays a wild array of feathers, but I like the color similarities between its red eye and burgundy feathers even more.
This member of canidae looks to be less than fully grown, but already fully charming.
Last but not least, I thought this literal picture of a cat picture (an ocelot, I believe) captures the zoo experience quite well.

Sights from the Kentucky Horse Park
A year onward from the 2017 Kentucky Summer Classic and Pony Finals, I’m looking back at many of the images I captured. Many of these only saw the light of day previously through my Instagram account, so I thought it’d be appropriate to give a complete spectrum of the the KHP experience. Some of these shots are the from the Rolex Stadium’s Grand Prix, others from the humble warm-up ring; all of them show people focused on the equine world.
