This image of Dublin’s Custom House presents some delightful contrasts—not only between the House itself and its more modern neighboring structures, but also between the silhouetted lamp whose bulb was conveniently out and its nearby glowing peers.

Spending so much time on Trinity’s campus through a long, perfect spring, I’ve been contemplating what makes it so aesthetically appealing—what makes it the place that really motivated me to get into photography to begin with. The contrast between imposing, heavy, harsh neogothic structures and delicate, organic, fragile magnolias makes both seem so much more specific and unique.

And of course, I had to take a picture of the eclipse. I stepped out from lab with my camera but didn’t have a filter. Instead, I took narrowed down the aperture and aimed to get some rainbow effects that might spice up the image.
