There’s a benefit to taking way, way too long to process some of my raw images: I get to revisit great evenings (like this one from the spring) and warm myself as we near the darkness of the winter solstice.

After a summer spent under construction to fully overhaul the pond, work is finally complete and our city park looks more beautiful than ever. In the distance, the State Capitol is lit by the last of the warm early-autumn sunshine.

The weekend’s Capitol Groove concert brought thousands together to watch acts like Khruangbin and Thundercat jam in Bushnell Park.
A big, dramatic golden dome really stands out against a sky of dramatic Rayleigh-scattering-blue clouds, but views of the Connecticut State Capitol always leave me wondering what-ifs… This was the original site of Trinity College, which relocated to make way for this current structure. How would this high point in Hartford appear with Trinity here instead?
My first drone flight in Hartford—floating above the trees of Bushnell Park—coincided with Juneteenth. The Connecticut State Capitol (former site of Trinity College) and this vibrant mural are located at the western side of the park.
